There’s nothing quite like the rigors of competitive motorsports. It’s an extreme environment for drivers -- one that encourages, and rewards, fast learners. And, in this world, experience counts for a lot. Fortunately, Cooper has plenty. We’ve been racing on two wheels and four since the 1950s. Over the years we have competed at every level of competition, from grassroots club series to Formula One, Le Mans 24-hour endurance events, drag racing, rallycross and even ice racing. We currently supply more than 150 race series and championships around the globe, continuing a winning tradition in racing and competing at some of the highest levels that motorsports have to offer.
Inside Cooper’s Racing division, the walls are covered with pictures of countless famous drivers who, at some stage of their careers, have powered onto the top step of the podium thanks to our competition tires. If you want a few names, how about Ayrton Senna, Juan Pablo Montoya, Keke Rosberg, Jenson Button and Mika Hakkinen?
FORMULA DRIFTING
If you want nonstop tire smoking excitement, action packed adventures, and a side-swiping good time, Formula Drift is for you! The Need for Speed Formula Drift Championship Series is the first and only officially sanctioned (by SCCA Pro Racing) and recognized North American professional drifting championship series to showcase the competitive thrill-seeking world of drifting. This high-skill, high-powered motorsport event 
calls for drivers to control a car at high speed, beyond the limits of tire traction, as it slides sideways in a closed and a marked course. And, it’s not about finishing first on the track – it’s about who has the purest display of car control. Cooper supplies Formula Drift teams with a mix of ultra-high performance Cooper Zeon 2XS, Cooper Zeon ZPT and Cooper Zeon Sport A/S tires, providing the driver with the appropriate performance and handling capabilities needed to succeed
A1GP
Cooper Tire holds the contract as the exclusive tire supplier to the innovative A1GP. A1GP is more than just another motorsports phenomenon; it’s an entirely new sport ― The World Cup of Motorsport. Pitting driver against driver and country against country for the first time in history. And of course, every tire on the track is made by Cooper.
The Cooper A1 tire is a control tire for the series with every team using the same compound. These tires need to cope with up to 550 bhp and full-throttle acceleration ― and with no traction control other than the driver’s right foot. With a quest for increased speed and maximum thrills, A1GP drivers have certainly come to the right place. Touting one of the most powerful engines in the motorsports world, the A1 race car is destined to set a new benchmark in the high performance world of motorsports.
Although you can’t find Cooper A1GP motorsports tires in dealerships, you can find them on the racetrack, most likely accompanied by a checkered flag.
CHAMP CAR
Cooper continues its tradition of racing and winning in diverse championships around the world. One of Cooper’s most competitive and challenging race series starts with the 2007 Champ Car Atlantic Championship where Cooper signed on for three years as the presenting sponsor and exclusive tire supplier. This year when teams compete, every car will be driving on Cooper Atlantic tires. This means Cooper tire owners aren't the only automobile enthusiasts to admire the innovation, technology and performance found in every Cooper tire.
At Cooper, we’ve worked hard to help create a new breed of Atlantic cars. That’s why we created a Cooper-Atlantic tire inspired by the spirit of the Atlantic driver – in true Cooper-style.
